DARE 2 SHARE – COME AND SEE
TEXT: John 1: 45-46
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the
Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,”
said Philip.

Hymn: This is my story, this is my song – StF 548

Today we continue with our DARE 2 SHARE challenge, focusing on how Phillip brought
Nathaniel to Jesus.

There is a series about the story of Jesus called ‘The Chosen’. In episode 2 of season 2, we get
the scenes of how Phillip inviting Nathaniel to Jesus. Please watch when you have time
(https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen/watch?vid=S2:E2). The context of the
Nathaniel scenes tells us how troubled he was before going to sit under the fig tree. He had lost
it all; job, integrity, property, livelihood, all were gone. He was at the lowest moment of his
life, so badly distressed by his loss. When his friend Phillip comes, Nathaniel has closed his
mind against the world. Yet, all Phillip needed to do was to insist, come and see.

This statement: ‘come and see’ had been earlier used by Jesus when the two disciples of John
the Baptist asked him where he was living. It is easy for people to see for themselves than if
we tell them. Nathaniel finally came to see and discovered Jesus as the son of God.

We all come across friends and family at their lowest moments. We can share own stories of
our lowest moments with them and let them know how God helped us out. Then invite them to
come and see. This week, pray that God will lead you into the life of someone who need Jesus
at their lowest moment, so that you can share, your own story of faith in Jesus at your lowest
moment, with them and invite them to ‘come and see’. DARE 2 SHARE.

Just repeating below, the few tips to help you gain the confidence to share your faith story:
First, think through your Christian faith journey, praying for the Holy Spirit to remind you.
Then write down short stories of your faith that tells who Jesus is to you and what God has
done for you. If you need to, you can rehearse these stories as often as you can. Start to share
some of these stories in church, cell meetings, Bible study and prayer meetings. I am
encouraging you to take a short video (1-3 minutes) to be shared on social media. If you are
happy for the church to share them on Facebook, send them to us. God bless you as you DARE
2 SHARE your faith story
